Miracle Mile Art Walk Gives Neighbors an Opportunity to View More Than Forty Stellar Galleries

 

Citywide Collectors, Patrons, Community Members to Experience Neighborhood Arts Community monthly

 

More than 40 art galleries and art museums participate in “Miracle Mile Art Walk” held on the third Saturday of each month in the Miracle Mile area of Los Angeles.  Each month features a specific group of galleries. January galleries include galleries on Beverly Boulevard and La Brea.  

 

Reception and Artist Lecture : The January host gallery is Stephen Cohen Gallery, at 7358 Beverly Blvd .   An artist lecture and opening reception will be held at 2 p.m. The reception will be generously donated by Panini Grill Deli ( restaurant located at 5354 Wilshire Blvd.) . Balloons will identify the gallery.

Free guided tour :  A special tour of two galleries, DNJ Gallery and Jack Rutberg Fine Arts, is available following the opening reception at the host gallery. There will be an introduction to each gallery and exhibit.

Listening Party :   In celebration of the inaugural week, a listening party will be provided by the producers of the CD , Yes We Can: Voices of a Grassroots Movement at the Alitash Kebede Gallery, 170 S. La Brea, 2nd Flr., from 5:15pm-6:15pm.

The music includes a collection of artists from across genres, including such renowned performers as Stevie Wonder, Sheryl Crow, John Mayer, Adam Levine from Maroon 5 and John Legend.

After Party : An after party for art walkers will be held at Sante La Brea Restaurant, 345 N La Brea Avenue , with music and art from 6:30-8:30 p.m .   Sponsored by Von Dutch, it will feature the work of artist Joe Vaux, who will be present.  

The Holly Trolley shuttle, courtesy of Councilmen Tom La Bonge and Jack Weiss, will make a continuous loop stopping near galleries (look for balloons for trolley stops), beginning at 1:00 p.m. at 170 South La Brea Avenue.

“Miracle Mile Art Walk” is organized by the Arts & Recreation Committee of the Mid City WEST Community Council which promotes and supports the visual and performing arts & recreational venues by identifying the participating organizations, supporting their community outreach, and ensuring their long term viability as stakeholders.
