CINEMA TUESDAYS at Nike Sportswear at The Montalbán launches 2009 with a special advance screening of NOTORIOUS on Tuesday, January 13, 2009. Returning for an entire year of cinematic events, the highly successful film series will present monthly screenings at Nike Sportswear at The Montalbán, Nike Sportswear’s unique retail and special events theatre in Hollywood. Curated by Flux, CINEMA TUESDAYS has featured premieres and advanced screenings of some of the most-talked about films of 2008, including Charlie Kaufman’s Synecdoche, New York, Guy Ritchie’s RockN’Rolla and Justice documentary A Cross The Universe, and celebrated guests have included Spike Jonze, Tom Noonan, Adam Goldberg, Wayne Coyne, Busy P and Shirley Manson. Always free with invitation, Nike Sportswear is proud to kick off 2009 with an entire year of CINEMA TUESDAYS.

Please join us for a special screening of NOTORIOUS , the highly-anticipated new film about hip hop legend “The Notorious B.I.G.” Presented in conjunction with URB magazine, the night will feature a Q&A by Director George Tillman Jr. and DJ sets by DJ MC Lyte  and DJ Smiles Davis .

NOTORIOUS charts the remarkable rise of Christopher “The Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace – who, in just a few short years, shot from the tough streets of Brooklyn to the heights of hip-hop legend. Peeling back his mythic image eleven years after his tragic death, NOTORIOUS reveals the tumultuous and all-too-brief journey of a blazingly talented, fiercely determined young man whose unforgettable rap stories of inner city street life, with their raw truth and vivid rhymes, became emblematic of a whole generation’s brutal reality and its dreams of escaping it for something bigger. NOTORIOUS will be released in theaters on January 16th by Fox Searchlight Pictures.
