The Cellar, one of Orange County’s most illustrious dining institutions, is celebrating the nation’s birthday with a bang. All entrée prices will be set at $10 for the days before and just after the 4th of July holiday (July 2, 3, 5). Executive Chef David Kesler, whose reinterpretations of classic French recipes and attention to detail have earned him critical acclaim, said that the $10 entrée price will apply to such favorites as poached filet of salmon with bay shrimp and a Chardonnay-chive butter sauce; filet of beef topped with crab meat and laced with Hollandaise; grilled fresh rainbow trout served with lemon and brown butter sauce and topped with toasted almonds; prime New York steak broiled and served with a pepper and brandy cream sauce; roasted breast of duck with an orange/tarragon sauce and flageolets; and roasted rack of lamb coated with herbs de Provence and fire-roasted red pepper sauce.
The Cellar has been an Orange County institution since it opened its doors in 1970. Its Old World charm as realized by the craftsmen who built Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean sets the perfect backdrop to a world class dining experience emphasizing the finest in classical French cuisine. It enjoys a storied past including serving as the site where Richard Burton proposed to Liz Taylor and remains a relevant institution thanks, in part, to its current owner, lifelong Fullerton resident Ryan Dudley. The 32-year-old entrepreneur is breathing new life into the The Cellar through regular culinary events, fundraisers and other activities designed to appeal to today’s diner.
The Cellar is located at 305 North Harbor Blvd, Fullerton; (714) 525-5682; visit www.cellardining.com.
