The Silver Lake Art Crawl will once again be an affirmation of the
Eastside as an important center of artistic expression, defined by
a creative independence unique to our part of Los Angeles. Our
mission this year is to emphasize the rich, diverse art produced
and on display here, and to exhibit the expressive power of the
Eastside through gallery exhibitions, special events, and other
projects during SLAC 2009. The eclectic flavor of Silver Lake and
its surrounding neighborhoods deserves an outlet where it can be
seen an appreciated by the population at large.
See you there!
The Silver Lake Art Crawl presents this year's kickoff party on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 9pm-midnight at the brand new Gold Bear Academy project space. Eastside gallerists, business owners, and visitors will be invited to this free evening, which celebrates our collective neighborhoods and the creativity and community of our unique section of Los Angeles. Local galleries and artists will participate in a group show of local artwork, Neat, which will be up to view by appointment for several weeks. Featuring DJ Ded Temme. Curated by Brady Brim-DeForest and Jonny Coleman.
